Game Days
Beginning 8/2, all tryouts and practices are mandatory.
First unexcused absence, consequence
Second unexcused absence, you are off the team
Freshmen participate in CATS camp. Please select the FRIDAY option. Players MUST come to the steel mill BEFORE CATS camp in order to get the credit per state requirements.
The practice schedule for most of August is on the MillbrookFootball.com website
School parking passes for juniors and seniors are available as a lottery system. You must register to get in on the lottery. It is completely online this year. If the pass needs to get picked up during a practice, the parents will have to pick it up.
We will have our pre-season varsity scrimmage on Wednesday, August 11th at North Durham beginning at 6 pm. Details will be provided soon.
Coaches monitor grades on an ongoing basis. Players who receive below a C may not play in games.
It is expected that players are respectful on and off the field. Attitude and effort are important at all times. Players will keep the bus and field in better condition than they found it.
Players will ride buses to and from the games. MASKS ARE REQUIRED on the bus per WCPSS rules.
Picture Day & Buttons
Picture day will be on 8/11. These are similar school pictures for the yearbook and are run by the booster club (not Football). Once we get closer to the date, we will provide the links to order pics.
We have a JV-only practice that day because of the evening varsity scrimmage.
We will have varsity come EARLY for pictures to do button headshots, senior pictures, and some group photos/videos for our website. Stay tuned for more details about the time/location
The football club sells buttons every year. They are $7 for 1 and $5 for each additional button. We will begin selling them at the kickoff event. We try to only place ONE order so make your purchase when we send the email or at kickoff.
We recommend that you purchase photo buttons from the Football Club as the Lifetouch pictures typically do not come in until the end of the season. Football Club buttons typically come in within a week of the order.
Snacks & DrinksPlease bring 1 package of Gatorade/Powerade and 1 package of individually wrapped snacks to either steel mill or tryouts. We use them for AWAY games for both JV and Varsity. Julie Barefoot will be in the parking lot MONDAY 7/26 AFTER STEEL MILL and again BEFORE SKILL DEVELOPMENT to collect snacks & drinks. She will also be there TUESDAY 7/27 AFTER STEEL MILL. Spirit Wear/Team Gear
Items from Store #1 should be available in the next 1-2 weeks. We will arrange a day to pick them up from the school. If you have any issues with your order, you will contact Melissa Bowen at OnionJr@aol.com
Store #3 will be open from 7/26-8/8. Items ordered in this store will not be in until at least October. This is your last opportunity to order something that says Millbrook ‘Football’ on it.
Meals
$80 for JV Meals
Varsity TBD
Volunteers (JV 3-4:30, V-2-3:30)
We will begin collecting JV meal money after tryouts. The easiest way is to pay at the kickoff event. We can accept cash, check (payable to the Millbrook Wildcat Club), or credit cards.
If anyone is interested in helping to coordinate varsity meals, please let Heather know.
We do NOT have meal servers on the sign-up genius. We do this because some people want to do it every week and others want to do it when they can. This is the BEST way to get to know other parents, see the boys in their element, meet the players and get to know the coaches. It is one of my most favorite things to do with Millbrook Football. Please let Heather know if you are interested.
JV Meals are in the Millbrook Cafeteria. Volunteers serve from 3-4:30 (set up, serve, clean-up). Stromboli’s restaurant typically gives us an incredible deal. The meal includes pasta and salad. We also provide water.
Varsity meals are typically held at Crossroads Fellowship (~20 years). The food for varsity is typically donated by local businesses. We are still seeking a few meal donations (~$500/meal or they have to feed ~70 people). IF there will be any costs associated with varsity meals, we will let you know.
Field Cleanup, Kickoff Event & Silent Auction
Volunteers for field clean up
Food for Kickoff event
Donations needed
We expect all families to participate in the field cleanup this year since our scrimmage will be on Wednesday 8/11. Field cleanup counts as community service hours. Players must enter their community service hours on the Millbrook Community Service portal.
We have each family bring food to share for the kickoff event
We have 2 main fundraisers each year, an online fundraiser and a silent auction. Please reach out to local businesses to solicit donations. Once you have a donation, please let Heather know.
Millbrook Wildcat Club
Membership Benefits
Sponsorships
Joining the Millbrook Wildcat Club is the BEST way to see ALL regular season HOME games for ALL sports. ALL money stays at Millbrook for athletics. Family memberships can be purchased at a discount of $180 if purchased before 9/17. After that date, they are $200.Click here for the membership form. If you pay at the gate, the money goes to Wake County, not directly to Millbrook Athletics. WCPSS gives Millbrook less than $1,000 per year for athletics (not just football). So every dollar from WIldcat Club Memberships stays at Millbrook for athletics.
If you have a business or are just interested in being a Millbrook Sponsor, please consider a sponsorship. There are several sponsorship levels ranging from $800-$10,000. Sponsorships include family membership.

Sign-up genius
Woo Watermelon
We need 1 person to film JV games. Let Heather know if interested
We need 1 person to support the varsity film. Let Heather know if interested
Please sign up for at least 1-2 activities on the sign-up genius. It takes all of us to make the season successful. We are one of the few teams that do not pre-assign volunteer spots. Please help us keep it that way.
Woo watermelon is coming up on the last day of tryouts. The football club brings watermelon for the boys as a way to honor Coach Woo who passed away a few years ago. This was his tradition and we carry it on in his memory. If you are available to cut watermelon and serve it to the boys, please put your name in the sign-up genius.
Calendar Review
Senior Night 10/25
Senior Breakfast 10/26
We are looking for volunteers to head up Senior Night and possibly a Senior Breakfast in October. Please let Heather know if interested.
Any Other Business/Q&A
What equipment do players need to purchase? Cleats. The school has a limited supply of mouthpieces and has some girdles. Most players prefer to purchase their own girdles and mouthpieces.
